Last day of diving in Kona today, boo. Tomorrow evening we fly back to cold and wintry Chicago, which is currently being assaulted by a fierce winter storm.
The winds from earlier in the week had died down, and the waves were gentle and undulating. Gorgeous day to dive! We went to two new dive sites today: Aquarium and Crescent 3.
Highlights of the dives: a bandit angelfish which is endemic to Hawaiian waters, a couple of yellow margin eels, a dragon moray that was hiding in the recesses of a coral, and three gorgeous eagle rays hanging out at a sandy bottom at 80 feet. Also saw an octopus that inked, and a couple of green turtles.
