A Stormy Midsummer’s Night

I think it’s fated. It rains every time I try to catch Movies in the Park. The last time, I joined Pauline and her friends to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off under dripping tarps in the pouring rain. This time, Tracey, Jen and I got to enjoy maybe 10 minutes of the movie, Dirty Dancing, before the skies opened up.

We ran straight to the car. There was no chance of hiding out under tarps – there was lightning everywhere, and the gale-strength winds blew my golf umbrella upside down. When we turned on the car radio, we heard the tornado warning.

But both Tracey and I have the DVD anyway. Hehe. So we headed back to her apartment, and rearranged our box of strawberries, fromage and crackers, and a chill bottle of Prosecco in front of her television. Not quite as lovely as watching it on the grass by the lake front, but still delightful. 🙂
