Flying

On a whim last year, we bought two flight lessons on one of the daily deals sites. It was hard to schedule the lessons with our packed calendar, but we finally got around to it this morning.

We flew out of the Lewis University Airport in a small 172 Cessna. Or rather, the instructor, Rick, flew, and let us play around on the controls for a bit when we were safely in the air. There’s so many gauges to watch out for, it’s somewhat overwhelming!

It was a good experience, and we’ve now clocked 0.5 hours out of the 39.5 hours we need towards a pilot license. Haha. Doubt that I’d go for more sessions right now… I’m awful at computer games, and there looked to be too many controls that one has to deal with on an airplane. Will stick to just the flying trapeze for the moment. Hehe, but at least there’s another item crossed off that bucket list!
