Memorial Day Weekend. Last year, we were battling high waves, rain, and mosquitoes up in Boundary Waters. This year, I am mostly fighting a losing battle with studying. Just five more days!
I did get to enjoy the weekend a little though. On Saturday night, we brought along the bottle of Chateau Tayac, Margaux 2005 to Sue’s place for a chill evening in with Miles and Ginger, Sue’s adorable dog. It’s definitely one of the best Bordeaux I’ve had to date – chewy, sort of like a blackforest cake with notes of blackberries and chocolate. Mmm. It one of those perfect early summer evenings too – nice and cool temperatures outside.
This morning, we went for a bike ride along the lake front. I was glad we were out before 7am – the path was mostly deserted, and temperatures were steadily rising to the high 80s-90s. It never fails to startle me how gorgeous Chicago can be.
