I was drained from the exam, but L+M persuaded us to go over last evening for a chill time. Who can resist a big hot pot dinner with good beer, wine, and company? Afterwards, we broke out the mahjong… hehe, we kinda made up our own rules since no one quite knew what they were and everyone was too lazy to go online to read the instructions.
This morning, I woke up bright and early and went for an hour plus bike ride along the lake. I have to say it again – the lake shore path is one of the best things about Chicago. It’s so lovely to be peddling along the lake front, looking at the glassy waters, the sailboats in the foreground and the skyscrapers in the background. The path was busy this morning – walkers for breast cancer, some mini race, running clubs, cyclists, everyone out and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Afterwards, we headed downtown for a massage before coming back up north to meet up with Wendy and Chris who were in town. We had a long brunch at Deleece and then went out onto the lake for some sailing. Good strong winds! 15-20 knots, although there were patches of gusts which threw us off a little. Still a little rusty since we haven’t gone out in a year, but it was such a perfect day to be out on the water.
