1812 Cannons

It took forever to get into Ravinia Sunday afternoon – it seemed everyone wanted to see the real cannons go off in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Symphony, never mind that the skies was overcast and the radar looked ominous.

But we finally managed to get into the park, after the performance started. Large group of us – 11 of us comfortably sprawled out around Sue’s awesome picnic table that was heavily leaden with wine, chips, cheeses, prosciutto and melon. We had a lovely time lounging around, chatting in between the pieces.

The cannons were awesome! The mini cannons went off automatically, in synch with the music, as smoke filled the air.

Lovely chill evening out, in between lying on the couch and watching the Olympics. Haha, we never ever turn on the TV, so Jeff had to fiddle with the bunny ears for a bit before we received crisp reception. 🙂
