Birthday Dinner at Graham Elliot

Since we would be busy playing hosts to my family in NYC on his birthday, Before the fact, I brought Jeff out to Graham Elliot for dinner. We were greedy, and ordered the repertoire tasting menu and individual wine pairings.

Another lovely, lovely meal. I’m always a little nervous returning to a restaurant after an incredible meal, afraid that time and optimistic memories have raised expectations to other worldly heights. But happily, GE did not disappoint.

Dishes of fireworks, each more astounding than the last, coupled with well thought out wine pairings (including a Upstate New York Pinot Noir from Ravines that was surprisingly earthy and delicious). My most memorable course of the evening was the medley of tomatoes, the king of them being the heirloom tomato, which was so juicy and thick, it tasted almost meaty.

Another meal to remember.
