Finally, there was enough snowfall for us to drive up to Lapham Peak in Wisconsin for a day of cross country skiing. In fact, there was more than enough snow too, for a proper romp through some of the marshes we passed by enroute.
It was such a beautiful drive up – past fields of fluffy white, trees outlined in snow. Our friends Joe and Jennie joined us at the trail, and we had a most invigorating day skiing. We’d started out heavily wrapped in scarves and thick coats, but after the first loop, stripped down to just a light outer shell. Probably covered 13 miles in total. 🙂
Hopefully we will get more snow through end of March so we’d have more opportunities to play again. And I think we’ve successfully convinced 6 of our wine buddies to give it a whirl too. 🙂
