A day as a tourist in Chicago

Chicago at dusk

YH came into town to visit, her second since um, 10 years ago. It’s always fun to have visitors from home. This time around, she came with three other friends, as part of a 3-week long tour of Chicago, Niagara, New York City, and Boston.

Though they professed to want to see snow, the cold quickly got to them. Heck, it was only 32 degrees today, but even I felt frozen. Ahh, winter has barely arrived!

Headed down to the Adler Planetarium late morning, and we wandered around the somewhat dated exhibits for a couple hours before we headed to Chinatown for a quick bubble tea stop. After, we stood in line for a half hour to take the elevator up to the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock, just so we could go to the bathroom. Haha, well the best views of the city are to be had from there!

Since we didn’t have much time after for a drink, we just headed over to our restaurant reservation right after. Her friends were still pretty jet lagged – or else just very shy – for dinner conversation (and conversation the entire day for that matter) was quite muted. Still, it was awesome to be able to catch up in person with YH again.
